How to set up HappyTracks

You need an active Spotify Premium Family subscription.

Manage or upgrade your plan at spotify.com/de/account/family/.

This enables a proper child account and access to Spotify Kids.

In your Premium Family settings, add your child as a family member and create their child profile.

Use spotify.com/de/account/family/ to set it up.

This child profile is designed for Spotify Kids.

Download Spotify Kids on your child's device: spotify.com/de/kids/.

Sign in with the child account you just created.

Playback happens inside Spotify Kids (or Spotify, depending on your setup). HappyTracks does not stream music.

Create your parent account in HappyTracks.

Connect your Spotify account using the secure login flow.

Allow HappyTracks to manage playlists on your behalf. It only manages song requests and playlist updates — it does not stream or store music.

HappyTracks creates a playlist in your Spotify account named “HappyTracks - [Child Name] - Shared”.

This is the approved listening space. Nothing lands here without your approval.

Share this playlist with your child inside the Spotify Kids app so they can see approved tracks. Learn how at this Spotify Kids guide.

Think of it as a VIP list for songs you allow.

Your child can search Spotify’s catalog in HappyTracks and tap Request.

Requests go into your review queue. There is no auto-add and no surprise playback.

Review each requested song and approve or decline.

Approved tracks are added to the shared playlist; declined ones stay out until you choose otherwise.

Approved songs can be played in Spotify or Spotify Kids, depending on your setup.

Kids get music they want with a clear process.

Parents get visibility, control, and fewer playlist debates.
