Les Houches – Chalets du Miage round trip with overnight stay

This time we decided to do a great roundtrip from the Chamonix Valley towards Les Contamines Montjoie. We showed our guest Amy the beauty of the Chamonix Valley and organized a nice hut overnight stay for her in the lovely Refuges du Miage.

We started our hike in Les Houches and took the nice and wide track up to the Col de Voza. It was very sunny and we became really hot on our way up. A short rest at Bellevue accompagnied with nice views on the Aiguilles de Chamonix was the perfect opportunity to cool down and nibble on some goodies out of our lunch-packs.

We continued our way to the very scenic suspension bridge where we had a lot of fun taking pictures and enjoying this impressive construction.

After another 45 minutes walking we reached the top of the Col de Tricot, a steep mountain pass which is leading to the Chalets de Miage.

After a nice day hiking we enjoyed our afternoon in the hut. We tasted some homemade ice-cream and blueberry cake, whilst we were playing cards. In the evening we got indulged with a nice 3-course dinner before we went to bed.

On the next day we walked back to Les Houches over Champel and Bionnay, two really small and traditional farmers villages. We passed many beautiful gardens with many flowers and some animals.
